After over a decade of working within the institutional banking sector he spent two years at a Private Merchant Bank, which proved to be a pivotal moment in his career. Combining his institutional background and the entrepreneurial environment he was exposed to at the merchant bank, Randy founded Mercado Capital Corporation in 1992. An industrial equipment Lessor originating in excess of $75 Million in transactions annually. By 2007 the company had expanded throughout English speaking Canada and had a book of business exceeding $100 Million. In May of 2007 he sold the business to a BC Credit Union.
From 2007 until 2012 Randy spent time as a Director for a private manufacturing company, Special Olympics and a Co-Chair for the 2011/12 IIHF World Junior Hockey tournament.
In June of 2012 Randy founded Arundel Capital Corporation, a western-based industrial equipment leasing company.
